Camden National Bank Invests $10,000 to Junior Achievement of Maine to Inspire and Prepare K-12th Students for Career and Life

Camden, Maine, August 12, 2024 – Camden National Bank is committed to strengthening Maine’s communities and its economic vitality, and through this commitment has pledged $10,000.00 to Junior Achievement of Maine (JA Maine) as a 2024-2025 sponsor.

As a non-profit, JA Maine aims to provide students with the opportunity to work with mentors they aspire to be like, address root causes of economic mobility and generational poverty, cultivate a positive and resilient mindset as it pertains to student’s futures, and aid Maine in its supply of future workforce. Camden National Bank’s support through funding allows Junior Achievement to fulfill its mission and reach more classrooms throughout Maine.

Camden National Bank also provides paid volunteer hours for its employees, allowing them to work at a grassroots level with Maine students through volunteer opportunities with JA Maine and other Maine non-profits. As a community bank, Camden National Bank recognizes the importance of supporting youth in their educational and professional aspirations as early as possible.

By aligning with Junior Achievement of Maine, Camden National Bank is helping to empower youth by cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets within them, ensuring they’re ready to take on career opportunities, and feel confident in their financial management skills. Measurable impact is made when students are empowered through these three pillars, which guide JA Maine’s mission in delivering learning experiences focused on work and career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Together, JA Maine and Camden National Bank are working toward a more resilient state of Maine with empowered students who become future business and civic leaders.

“We’re so grateful to Camden National Bank for joining us in the critical work of preparing Maine’s youth to navigate their futures, drive our economy, and lead our communities,” says JA Maine’s President & CEO, Michelle Anderson. “These efforts not only prepare students for the workforce but also instill in them a sense of confidence and readiness to face the challenges of the future. Given Camden National Bank’s strong presence in Maine as a premier employer, we are thrilled to partner in this effort.”

Camden National Bank is committed to Maine’s community and views opportunities to work with organizations like JA Maine as a critical entry point in helping build a more resilient state by helping young people discover what’s possible in their lives. JA Maine does this by helping students connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom, and sharing the possibilities to invest in their future, to gain a better understanding of how the world works, and to pursue their dreams. Camden National Bank is helping to make JA Maine’s work possible.

“We align closely with Junior Achievement’s mission, as we both look to prepare our youth with the resources and tools needed to make sound financial decisions,” said Renée Smyth, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer of Camden National Bank. “We are proud to provide our employees with the opportunity to volunteer with JA Maine and to continue our longstanding support of their unique programming to build brighter futures.”
