William Martel
Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
William H. Martel is executive vice president and chief technology officer of Camden National Bank. His role oversees several critical functions of the company, including technology and bank operations, digital platforms, technology infrastructure, application development and support, business intelligence, and innovation.
He has been on the executive leadership team since 2020, serving as executive vice president of technology and support services. In August of 2022, Martel was promoted to executive vice president and chief technology officer.
Prior to joining the company, Bill served as head of U.S. operations technology for Santander U.S. in Boston, leading the operations and information technology service management transformations for the U.S. Previously, he was a senior vice president at TD Bank and served in several senior management positions in the U.S. and Canada. He began his banking career as a senior branch manager for People’s Heritage Bank, a predecessor to BankNorth Group.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Gordon College, a Master of Arts in Theology, as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Workplace Leadership and Business Ethics from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Master of Business Administration from Thomas College.
