Ryan A. Smith is executive vice president and chief credit officer of Camden National Bank, where he is responsible for managing the bank’s credit group, underwriting process, and policies to maintain the company’s exceptional loan portfolio quality and risk management.

He joined the company in May 2012 as Senior Vice President and Commercial Regional Manager. Prior to becoming EVP, Ryan led the Southern Maine commercial banking and treasury management lines of business until 2015, when he became director of commercial banking for central and midcoast Maine. In 2019, he was promoted to senior vice president and director of credit administration. In September 2020, he became EVP of commercial banking.

Before joining Camden National Bank, Ryan spent over 10 years as a senior relationship manager with Peoples United Bank. Originally from Maine, he is actively involved in the local community as a volunteer coach for youth baseball. He also serves as a board director and past president of the Maine Building Materials Exchange and is a member of the Commercial Lending Committee for the Maine Bankers Association.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maine.
