Renée Smyth
Executive Vice President, Chief Experience and Marketing Officer
Renée D. Smyth is executive vice president and chief experience and marketing officer of Camden National Bank. She is responsible for corporate-wide marketing, brand management, and customer experience. She leads a team that creates and executes marketing and customer experience strategies supporting the bank’s brand and business objectives. She is also responsible for internal communications and public relations strategies, corporate social responsibility, and corporate giving.
Renée joined the company in October 2015 as chief marketing officer upon completing the merger of Camden National Corporation and The Bank of Maine, where she was recruited by a turn-around investor group to stabilize and grow The Bank of Maine through rebranding, marketing, and product development efforts, leading to its sale to Camden National Bank in 2015.
She started her career as an investment banker with over 10 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and private equity placements. This was followed by a Director of Affinity Programs role at Override, a subsidiary of Irving Oil, where she executed a strategic national growth plan connecting retail partners with fuel retailers.
Renée holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Ithaca College and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Hartford.
